Deb Knight, who has recently filled in for Lisa Wilkinson on Today, is getting a primetime gig at Nine.
She will become Sydney weekend newsreader, with Georgie Gardner focussing on Today duties, and leaves Weekend Today after 6 years.
60 Minutes reporter Allison Langson moves to Weekend Today.
Knight will also be kept busy as a fill-in for Peter Overton at Nine News, Georgie Gardner and Sonia Kruger, as well as become an occasional reporter for A Current Affair.
Knight has won plenty of praise from viewers for stepping in after Wilkinson’s sudden extra, but says she is “Looking forward to 2018.”
