Mark Salling pleads guilty to child porn charges

Former Glee star is facing between 4 to 7 years in prison after reaching a plea deal.

Former Glee star Mark Salling is facing between 4 to 7 years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography in a federal court in Los Angeles yesterday.

 

Salling, who played Noah ‘Puck’ Puckerman on the US musical admitted to possessing images of children engaged in sexual conduct, including some reportedly aged as young as 3.

Police reportedly found more than 50,000 images and videos of child pornography on computers. Whilst he was facing 20 years prison he agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors in October.

Salling, 35, will have to register as a sex offender and undergo treatment, is forbidden from having any contact with anyone under the age of 18 and must stay 100 feet or more away from schools, parks, public swimming pools, youth centres, playgrounds and arcades. He will also be ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution to each of his victims.

The Glee star was arrested in 2015 after investigators were tipped off by his then-girlfriend.

Sentencing will take place in March.
