“Pigsy” wins local media honour

WIN News senior cameraman gets the nod from Shoalhaven Local Area Command.

A shoutout for WIN News senior cameraman Michael “Pigsy” Pignataro, who has won a media gong from local police.

He was honoured at Shoalhaven Local Area Command Medals & Awards Ceremony at Berry Court House this week.

“One of the biggest things about crime, is in areas around perception,” said Shoalhaven Police Commander, Superintendent Steve Hegarty “…and I think the media, and ‘Pigsy’ as he’s known, does a fantastic job supporting police and attacking the areas around perception of crime.”

“News cameramen are vital within any reputable newsroom and they’re often first on the scene and work tirelessly,” said WIN Network News Director Stella Lauri. “The WIN Network is very proud of Michael and his recognition by the Shoalhaven Local Area Command.”

In August, Pignataro was nominated at the sixth NRMA Kennedy Awards in the Gary Ticehurst Award for outstanding TV News Camera Coverage.
