Ride Upon the Storm (Denmark, 10 episodes)
Ride Upon the Storm is a modern, character-driven Danish drama created by Adam Price (BAFTA-winning creator of Borgen) and starring Lars Mikkelsen (House of Cards) that follows a family of priests and explores how faith and religion affect their familial relationships.

Beautiful Loser (France, 10 episodes)

He finds himself obliged to return home and live with his mother Sylvie, in Chaville. By chance, he meets Marie (Marie Kauffmann), an ex from his teenage years he hadn’t heard from – and finds out he is the dad of a 15 year old teenager. Suddenly a father, Julien must learn to grow up and take responsibility.

  1. Thank god for SBS which has long taken over the role which the ABC once held but is now a shadow of what it once was. Populism has taken over from quality TV (apart from a few exceptions such as Landline and Australian Story for example).
