Airdate: My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman

Two faces who were once big in their circles, sit down for a chat on Netflix.

David Letterman’s return to television, with long form interviews on Netflix, will debut on Friday.

Apparently called My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, it begins with former President Barack Obama.

David Letterman, the longest-serving host in U.S. late night television – the original host of Late Night (NBC) and The Late Show (CBS) – is returning to television for a new series for Netflix.

The yet-to-be-named, six-episode series has Letterman combining two interests for which he is renowned: in-depth conversations with extraordinary people, and in-the-field segments expressing his curiosity and humor. In each hour-long episode, Letterman will conduct a long-form conversation with a singular guest – and will also explore topics on his own, away from the studio. The series is set to premiere in 2018.

  1. This is the bloke who had Lance Armstrong on his show a couple of time and treated him like a god in true excruciating American celebrity worship style. When asked to comment on Armstrong after the truth about his odious behaviour was revealed he commented, “Who cares about cycling anyway”. My opinion on the likes of Letterman is unprintable.

  2. Can’t wait to watch this. Letterman was always the best at disarming his guests to let us in and see a more personal side to them away from the publicity spin. Have missed him. Colbert comes close to matching him but Letterman is the true Grand Daddy of the genre.
