US comedy Lady Dynamite, featuring comedian / actor Maria Bamford, has been axed by Netflix after 2 seasons.
The series created by Pam Brady and Mitch Hurwitz sees Bamford attempting to build up her life after spending six months in recovery for bipolar disorder.
Netflix has recently cancelled Love, Haters Back Off, Girlboss, Marco Polo, Bloodline, The Get Down, Gypsy as it continues to refine its approach to scripted content.

I think the final sentence about Netflix refining it’s approach couldn’t be truer, some of the shows Netflix released in 2017 lacked finesse and looked unrefined, it was almost like money was handed out and no one bothered to ask what was being made, this makes programming a hit and miss affair for audiences keen for escapist entertainment. Currently the Netflix investment means that a big budget show with high hopes (Bright excepted) could end up a flop and a low budget effort is a surprise hit, some hard headed production managers are needed to get Netflix’s production priorities right.
