Offsiders host Gerard Whateley has quit the ABC to join sports radio broadcaster SEN.
Whateley, who has hosted the Sunday morning show since 2014, has been a commentator for ABC Radio Grandstand.
“After more than 13 years full time employment with the ABC, and considerably longer since that association began, I have decided to close this chapter and pursue a new challenge,” he said.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to be part of Grandstand Sport, Offsiders and the broader ABC.
“It was initially thought I would complete the Ashes series in Sydney and take the opportunity at the conclusion of the Test to say thank you and goodbye.
“Circumstances have changed and that won’t be the case.”
His role with FOX Footy continues.

Again….do not like what is going on at the ABC…TV or radio….
SEN – Where careers go to die. Is it too early to call the worst move of 2018.
Horse racing mentions on Offsiders in 2018 now expected to halve.
…to next to bugger all! Maybe John Harms will take up the reins (so to speak).
Must have thrown lots of money at him to leave the ABC to go to SEN! at least he is still doing AFL 360
No one listens to SEN ,rates about 3 each survey. It is mindless AFL talk 24/7..why Gérard, why….Station should be renamed AFLEN
Sad news for sure. But good luck to him. Still remember his boundary riding as a young bloke with terrible glasses on Ten’s AFL in the early 2000s. Cue for the ABC sport to now be more Sydney-centric than ever. Would be nice to see another Melbourne replacement (if there is one).
Kelli underwood to be the new host maybe. It’s a shame he isn’t able to call the final test and say goodbye.
