The Detour now on Stan

A family road trip from New York to Florida encounters one hellish turn after another.

Seasons 1 & 2 of US comedy The Detour are available to stream on Stan from today, Thursday January 11.

Season 3 will premiere from Jan 24 with new episodes dropping every Wednesday, same day as the US.

Led by Jason Jones (The Daily Show), the outrageous comedy is created, written and executive-produced by himself and wife Samantha Bee (Full Frontal) and is based on the couple’s own family trips.

The Detour centres around a family of four led by Nate (Jones), his wife, Robin (Natalie Zea) and their two children Delilah (Ashley Gerasimovich) and Jared (Liam Carroll). Daniella Pineda and Laura Benanti also star.

Nate (Jason Jones), plans an adventure of a lifetime — a road trip from New York to Florida — with wife Robin (Natalie Zea) and their young kids, rebellious daughter Delilah (Ashley Gerasimovich) and simpleton son Jared (Liam Carroll). Packed in cramped quarters, the 1,300-mile journey soon detours into disastrous territory as the family encounters one hellish turn after another.

In Season 2, the adventure continues as the family moves to New York City for a fresh start after Nate (Jones) receives a promising job opportunity. Everyone is excited except for Robin (Zea), who knows that a move to the big city means her mysterious past may catch up with her. While Nate and Robin adjust to new jobs, new neighbours and old flames, Jared (Carroll) and Delilah (Gerasimovich) dive headfirst into the awkwardness of adolescence.

Season 3 finds the Parkers on the lam in Alaska. After months of running, the family finally finds a community of misfits and decides to settle down and start rebuilding their lives. But they’re not out of the woods, as the law isn’t far behind. While Nate (Jones) and Robin (Zea) learn to take on new roles in the family, Delilah (Gerasimovich ) starts to become a young woman. And Jareb (Carroll) …well, he’s still Jareb. Well-intentioned, bad parenting is at its best in the Land of the Midnight Sun.
