ABC plans new kids drama The Unlisted

Upcoming ABC kids drama about underground vigilante kids gets international distributors excited.

ABC is yet to formally announce a new kid’s drama, The Unlisted, produced by Aquarius Films (Lion, The Other Guy), which is currently in the final stages of financing.

The (15×30′) follows 12-year-old twins as they work with a group of underground vigilante kids to stop powerful governments from imposing global control over the world’s youth.

Aimed at 8 to 12-year-olds it is due to be shot later this year for a 2019 broadcast.

Canada’s Sinking Ship Entertainment has picked up the series for worldwide distribution.

Marilyn Kynaston, head of sales for Europe at Sinking Ship, said, “With the producers’ pedigree behind it, and a story that is timely and exciting, we think this series will be of great interest.”

Twelve-year-old identical twins Dru and Kal are just like any other Australian boys living in Sydney in their first year of high school. Their parents are second generation Indian Australians and have embraced everything the country has to offer. But after a government- sponsored dental check-up, in which Kal is seen twice so that his twin, who has a crippling fear of dentists, can avoid another fainting episode, the Australian dream starts to unravel. The boys discover that a mysterious electronic device has been inserted into Kal twice, while Dru remains device-free and, therefore, undetectable. For what sinister ends is a democratic government secretly tracking and manipulating Australia’s youth?
