Asher Keddie cast in ABC-BBC drama

4 part psychological drama about a baby abduction will star Jenna Coleman & Ewen Leslie.

Asher Keddie has been cast in the upcoming BBC-ABC drama, The Cry, to film in both Australia and Scotland.

Written by Jacquelin Perske (Spirited, Deadline Gallipoli, Seven Types of Ambiguity, Love My Way) the project is adapted from the novel by Helen FitzGerald and produced by Scottish-based production company Synchronicity Films.

The four-part drama it is described as a psychological drama that chronicles the collapse of a marriage in the aftermath of a tragedy, and explores the myths and truths of motherhood. The abduction of a baby from a small coastal town in Australia is the catalyst for a journey into the disintegrating psychology of a young woman – Joanna – as she and her husband, Alistair, deal with an unthinkable tragedy under both the white light of public scrutiny and in their private lives.

The drama will star Jenna Coleman and Ewen Leslie as the young couple whose child is abducted.

The project marks Keddie’s return to ABC after hit miniseries Paper Giants.
