Dateline: Feb 13

Dateline is getting into online dating too, where the men outnumber the women in the Faroe Islands.

Dateline begins its 2018 season tomorrow, and it is getting into online dating too (let’s hope viewers don’t confuse Dateline with Date Night).

This week it is in the Faroe Islands, about halfway between Norway and Iceland, where the men outnumber the women.

“Love in a Strange Place”
In the remote Faroe Islands there is a shortage of women. Dateline reporter Bernadine Lim looks at how online dating is transforming the old Viking settlement into a new multicultural society. She dives in to the strange, cold, impenetrable Faroe culture to see if love can endure such an extreme culture clash.

Dateline is an award-winning international documentary series with a current affairs backbone. Every week, Dateline transports you to a different part of the world to share half-hour stories about family, social injustice, identity, tragedy, redemption and survival. Dateline journalists scour the world for the special characters to bring you a world of daring stories.
