Matt LeBlanc is in discussions with BBC for more of Top Gear.
The former Friends & Episodes star, who hosts alongside Chris Harris and Rory Reid, sees his contract expire at the end of the upcoming season.
Asked if he’ll be back in 2019, he said: “I hope so. If they will have me back, I am knocking on that door.”
A BBC source says negotiations are “on track”.
LeBlanc remains a strong advocate of the series, recently saying “”It’s a very strong brand. There will always be a place for it because human beings have a strong sense of independence, and the car gives you that.”
Nine this week confirmed it will fast-track the new season to 9GO! from next Wednesday.

Good to hear Matt wants to hang around, he’s been the best thing about this new format. The other 2 hosts do nothing for me, so if Matt goes, I go.
Haven’t had the need to look in to Top Gear without the original cast!
No need to with The Grand Tour – they’ve made it better than the original Top Gear – i’m enjoying it so much!!
