No feud says Ita

Another Studio 10 veteran dismisses recent headlines.

Studio 10‘s Ita Buttrose has now spoken The Great Brussel Sprout Incident which has dogged the show since late last year.

She denied any on-going feud with co-star Denise Drysdale, whose schedule on the show is changing.

“There is no feud, absolutely not,” she told Fairfax.

“Denise wanted to have a less heavy schedule this year and producers wanted to accommodate her, so she will do the show every fortnight for a couple of days, which will work better for us because we will see more of her. She lives in Queensland, so it was a lot of travel.”

In November producer Rob McKnight was given his marching orders after the on-set incident. But while he remains locked in a legal battle with TEN over his dismissal further details of the brussel sprout saga threaten to emerge.

Buttrose laughed off the incident, which occurred during filming of a Christmas video.

“I love brussels sprouts, especially when you sprinkle them with nutmeg but unfortunately the ones that were involved did not have nutmeg on,” she said.

Earlier this month Drysdale also denied any rift.

“I was in a jovial mood. The Christmas party was that night and I could not go, so I had a couple of glasses of champagne towards the end of the day and I threw the brussels sprout and I shouldn’t have,” she said.

  1. I dont think anyone is going to give a toss (of a brussell sprout) whether they like each other or not people will watch or wont warch…. however, publicity of an on set contraversy in TV show can bolster ratings.

  2. Also got to add, I don’t know whether it’s just me, but since Rob has left and also the move to the new studio and smaller set, the show has lost some of its spark.
Just can’t seem to be bothered with it this year.
Don’t know why ? Surely just the loss of 1 key person (Rob) can’t make such a difference.

    1. For me, it’s definitely the smaller set. Everything just seems so small and cramped. Also, the fact that guests have to awkwardly walk around a wall as opposed to the old sliding doors looks a bit silly (almost like it’s an unfinished set). I’m only an occasional viewer of this show but I definitely miss the old Studio 10 set.

  3. As per above, what was the on set incident, that caused Rob McNight to be given his marching orders? I didn’t think it was disclosed why Rob was fired ?
    Have I missed something?
