7 Comments:

  1. Has anyone noticed the lack of movies Ten air? Look at Seven and Nine, they air tons of movies from the back-catalogues of their deals with their TV providers (Disney ABC, Roadshow, Sony Pictures Television, etc). With multiple movies on Friday and Saturday nights across all channels.

You’ll be lucky to see a single movie on Ten’s main channel in a given week! Even Eleven / ONE only air a few each week.

  2. Ten is in a for a long year of Saturday night smashing. No matter what the other networks show TEN won’t be doing any decent shares with its schedule across all 3 Channels last night. Apart from Gogglebox which itself was an Encore, the lineup was pretty dire. David Attenborough would be better suited to ONE’s Audience.
Now don’t ask me what TEN should do, I didn’t have an answer for that last year either but I applauded them for trying new Dramas on a Saturday night. But perhaps try buying some weekend variety or Game shows from the UK.
A lot watched the opening ceremony again last night. 7 would be happy with that.

    • Ten absolutely need to fix Saturdays, they don’t really seem to be trying, given this situation isn’t new.

To be fair, Nine also struggle on Saturdays, particularly the bulk of winter (no NRL or cricket), as ABC have top-rating dramas and Seven dominate with the AFL. Though over rest of February / March they have David Attenborough on Saturdays on Nine, should do alright.

      • Ten needs to sort out what channel airs what. All three are a mish-mash of shows and encores. If they want to encore a show air it on the channel it originally aired on. Pin it to that channel. Viewers then know where it lives. Viewers on Sat nights watch either sport or watch movies like Go offer. Ten need to define what airs where and stick to it. Still say they convert One into a Crime & Law/order channel or create a new one. They have many shows that can air on this eg NCIS, SVU, Blue Bloods, Hawaii 5 O, etc, etc. No other FTA is well defined.

  3. Big numbers for the cricket seeing that it was up against the Winter Olympics. Nine would be happy with that. Nine’s multichannels were also strong. Poor old TEN. With those ratings it would save money by closing down for the night.

  4. Winter Olympics doing the business for Seven, beating cricket in all markets but Melbourne (MCG T20) and just losing Adelaide. Seven News Number 1, as was network and main channel. 7mate rated massive when news / Sunrise was on main channel at various times in various markets. Those late night ratings, over half a million again, fantastic to see.
