SBS PopAsia’s Kevin Kim voted Bachelor of the Year

SBS PopAsia radio host becomes first Asian-Australian to win annual magazine contest.

SBS PopAsia’s Kevin Kim was named as this year’s Cosmopolitan and Tinder Bachelor of the Year last night in Coogee.

Kim, 29, beat out Home and Away star Orpheus Pledger, former Bachelorette contestant Michael Turnbull and rugby sevens plater Tim Anstee.

In 2017, South Korean-born singer Kim was announced as host of the new SBS PopAsia radio show Live with Kevin Kim show.

In his Bachelor of the Year interview, Kim described himself as “passionate, optimistic and outgoing”.

Cosmopolitan editor, Keshnee Kemp said, “This year we celebrated an incredibly diverse group of men ranging from firefighters and real estate agents to a coal miner, rigger, chef and doctor. We also had finalists with cultural backgrounds from China, Japan, New Zealand, Jordan and Nigeria. It’s a great representation of our diverse readers and of the millennial generation.

“Kevin Kim is a great homegrown talent with a heart of gold, so we’re not surprised our readers fell for him. We’re thrilled to have Kevin as our 2018 Bachelor of the Year.”
