Seven claims Thursday win, Gogglebox best for TEN.

Ratings: Seven wins key primetime slots, TEN shows get a boost.

Seven enjoyed a strong Thursday, winning most timeslots with the exception of Nine News and  A Current Affair.

Without that dating show around My Kitchen Rules was back to 1.12m, up on last Thursday’s 983,000, and a win in the demos. I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here was also up, second in its slot with 595,000, leaving RBT in third on 545,000. Both were up on last Thursday.

Winter Olympics, now closing in on its finale, was up to 723,000 followed by Gogglebox at 629,000.

Call the Midwife slipped to 431,000 for ABC and the second instalment of Muslims Like Us drew 185,000, down on Part I.

Nine News won the news battle against Seven News.

Seven network won Thursday with 36.6% then Nine 22.6%, TEN 20.6%, ABC 13.5% and SBS 6.8%.

My Kitchen Rules was #1 for Seven with 1.12m viewers then Seven News (900,000 / 865,000), Winter Olympics (723,000 / 308,000), Home and Away (646,000) and The Chase (500,000 / 326,000).

Nine News (928,000 / 880,000) led for Nine then A Current Affair (791,000), RBT (545,000), Hot Seat (499,000 / 286,000) and Movie: Jurassic World (354,000).

Gogglebox (629,000) topped TEN’s night followed by I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here (595,000), The Project (460,000 / 310,000), TEN Eyewitness News (421,000) and Family Feud (277,000). Blue Bloods drew 193,000.

ABC News (623,000), 7:30 (491,000), Call the Midwife (431,000), Against the Law (160,000) and Think Tank (155,000) comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was Great British Railway Journeys (254,000), Muslims Like Us (185,000), SBS World News (135,000) and Knightfall (81,000).

Winter Olympics on 7mate pulled 218,000.

  1. It is noteworthy to me that Hot Seat got real close to winning against The Chase (only 1,000 viewers between the two)

    It has even won at least one recent night. What is happening? I thought Nine were crazy renewing Hot Seat in the current format for 2018 but maybe it is starting to pay off.

  2. Pains me to say this, but last nights Gogglebox was one of the worst I’ve seen… yet again, MAFS and MKR take up half of the show… surely they can find other things to watch?

    1. Agreed. And imo the show has been a lot more negative towards 7 & 9 networks this season compared to 10 shows (which is a feeling I never got in previous seasons). I can only think that in a roundabout way, they’re negatively commenting about 10’s relevance.
