The Living Room: Feb 23

The Living Room this week explores the best of New Zealand.

On The Living Room this week former Bachelor Matty J. guests with a travel segment to New Zealand’s South Island.

He joins Amanda Keller, Miguel Maestre and Grant Denyer exploring the best of New Zealand.

Taking a quick but spectacular trip via helicopter, Matty hikes up the unusually low-lying Franz Josef Glacier famed for its lush surrounding forests and, as Matty discovers, uncommonly fast flow that changes the face of the glacier dramatically on a daily basis.

While Matty explores the frozen regions of the South Island, Miguel enjoys the tropical Bay Of Islands to the north, testing whether our closest neighbours can rival the classic Aussie fish and chips. Playing off the coastal theme, DIY expert Kyal gives a masterclass in creating your own beachy bedhead from scratch.

Finally, Amanda has the pleasure of meeting a kiwi icon and scourge of the Wallabies, Richie McCaw, the most successful rugby union player in history. Taking Amanda on a tour of his hometown in Christchurch, McCaw gives Amanda a few tips on what it takes to become International Rugby Player of the Year a record three times.

Friday, 23 February at 7.30pm on TEN.

  1. I will say that Matty J didn’t do too badly on this.
Magazine/Light Entertainment programmes can be difficult – you need to put across a welcoming personality within a loosely scripted structure.
Admittedly, the camera likes him (and vice versa), and surely he’s had enough training and experience now to be comfortable before the lens.
I just wonder whether it is expressly written into his contract that every appearance must include a slow motion shirtless moment?
