Actor Martin Lynes sentenced to 5 years

Former soap star sentenced to five years jail after he was convicted of sexual assault.

Former Home and Away and All Saints star Martin Lynes has been sentenced to five years jail after he was convicted of sexual assault.

Lynes, 50, was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault after he attacked a woman on the Central Coast, in 2015 and 2016.

Judge Robert Sutherland told the Parramatta District Court “The event for which the offender is to be sentenced was very serious and is to be deplored.”

Lynes was charged in 2016 over a domestic dispute at a Bateau Bay property on the NSW Central Coast.

A disagreement broke out between Lynes and a woman who subsequently spent the night at Gosford Hospital after being sexually assaulted.

Lynes, who has been working in real estate, played the role of bad guy Adam Sharpe on Home and Away and has also appeared in Packed to the Rafters, McLeod’s Daughters, All Saints and Sea Patrol.

Lynes will have to spend a minimum of two years and six months behind bars.
