Airdate: Show Me the Movie!

TEN is wasting no time in getting Rove McManus back on air.

TEN is wasting no time in getting Show Me the Movie to air.

Rove’s return to TEN, as revealed by TV Tonight, will screen on Thursday nights from March 22nd with Joel Creasey and Jane Harber.

Rove said: “I’m excited to start work on this new show and very happy to be back at TEN, especially since it will give me a good opportunity to hang out with my old friends Pete, Carrie and Hughesy at the network cafeteria.”

TEN Chief Content Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “We are so pleased to have Rove back on TEN. Show Me The Movie! is a brilliant mix of movies, comedy and trivia – and Rove, Jane and Joel are the perfect people to lead this engaging and funny new show.

“There’s one thing Australians love more than watching movies and that is talking about movies.

“We’re experts at sprouting obscure movie facts, spoiling the endings and mangling famous movie quotes. Show Me The Movie! is a show that celebrates Australia’s love of cinema,” she said.

A co-production between Ronde Media and Blink TV, Show Me The Movie! has been created by Ben Davies (Bondi Rescue, Here Come The Habibs) and Spicks and Specks creator Paul Clarke (Blood and Thunder, Eurovision). Network TEN’s Executive Producer for Show Me The Movie! is Paul Leadon.

7:30pm Thursday March 22 on TEN.

    1. Don’t forget TEN has some of its strongest shows on Thursdays (Gogglebox, Bachelor) so that they can grow with less competition. While Nine plays dated movies, TEN builds a brand and adds to weekly share.

  1. Isn’t this the AFL traditional season opener between Richmond and Carlton, which will be bigger than ever given who won last year’s flag? Usually gets 400k in Melbourne. Plus NRL on Nine, not sure this is a great programming decision from Ten?

      1. That’s always been something I’ve loved about TEN, that they provide the alternative because not everyone likes watching sport and this is definitely something we’ll be watching at my house!

  2. Channel 10 have to get rid of that voice over guy, I can’t stand hearing him. It was tolerable when he only did the promos for ONE because nobody watches it, but now he is on the main channel and Eleven, it’s unbearable. Have to mute, fast forward, or change channel every time.

    1. His name’s Robbie McGregor, and it was kinda cool to hear him on SBS way back, but there is such a thing as to much of a good thing . When you’ve got endorsements from the likes of Baz Luhrmann describing him as “the voice Australia trusts” I guess it keeps him in work. At least it wasn’t Samuel Johnson or Rod Mullinar.

Actually, speaking of voice-overs, I was surprised to hear the dulcet tones of Shaun Micallef in the new ad for GIO.
