Dec without Ant as ITV pulls Saturday Night Takeaway episode

Celebrated UK duo Ant & Dec will not appear side by side in two remaining episodes of their variety show Saturday Night Takeaway, after Ant McPartlin was arrested for drink driving.

ITV yanked this weekend’s episode after headlines of McPartlin (pictured, left) alleged to have failed a roadside breathalyser test, following a collision with two other cars.

But it has since decided to screen the two remaining episodes with Declan Donnelly (pictured, right) hosting solo.

Donnelly said, “Whilst I never thought I’d be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we’ve decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead. We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that. Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series.”

McPartlin spent two months in rehab last year after admitting to a painkiller and alcohol addiction. He is currently taking time off for rehabilitation.
