Josh Lawson has his next US project with the lead role in CBS sitcom pilot, Welcome to the Neighborhood.
The project is written by Jim Reynolds and notably directed by legendary James Burrows (Will & Grace, Cheers, Taxi, Frasier).
Welcome to the Neighborhood centres on Dave (Lawson), the nicest guy in the Midwest who moves his family into a tough neighbourhood in L.A. where not everyone appreciates his extreme neighbourliness.
Lawson’s Dave is the most polite Midwestern guy you’ll ever meet who works as a conflict resolution expert, a job that calls for a friendly nature, and excellent diplomatic skills. He and his wife and son have moved from Michigan to live in their dream home, a vintage Craftsman house, in Pasadena. He realises when they arrive that connecting with their new community is a more complex and delicate endeavour than he expected.
The cast also includes Cedric the Entertainer, Tichina Arnold, Christian Camargo, Sheaun McKinney and Marcel Spears.
Lawson has recently featured in House of Lies, Superstore and Hoges while his short film The Eleven O’Clock was nominated for an Academy Award.
Brother Ben Lawson has also been cast in a new US pilot, False Profits for ABC.
