MTV marks International Women’s Day

MTV flips the logo and becomes WTV today, with girl power to mark International Women's Day.

MTV becomes WTV today, Thursday March 8, to honour International Women’s Day and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women.

A logo flip, first adopted internationally by MTV in 2017, will make its way on air and online.

MTV Australia will air a 60 second film featuring a stirring poem written by UK spoken word artist Sophia Thakur. The video will air across all of MTV’s channels throughout the day.

Throughout the day, MTV Australia will air highlight packages on air and online featuring inspirational MTV Award acceptance speeches by powerful women in the music industry. Those featured include Pink, Alicia Keys and Rita Ora.

MTV Music channel 803 will host a full day takeover of girl power hits including bespoke countdowns and curated playlists that celebrate female artists.
