Rugby Union player Nick Cummins is widely tipped to be TEN’s next Bachelor.
Media reports tip the larrikin Cummins, who goes by the nickname “the honey badger” to star in the upcoming season.
Cummins, 30, got the nickname after watching a documentary in which a small honey badger thwarted a lion. He is know for his down to earth humour and has an Instagram following of 250,000. His recent commercial campaigns include underwear and workwear, shampoo, and Tourism Australia alongside Lincoln Lewis.
After the self-deprecating Sophie Monk, TEN may be looking forward to Cummins comedy with one-liners like:
- The boys were on it like seagulls at a tip.
- Last year we were all sizzle and no steak, but now we’re off like a bride’s nightie.
- I was busier than a one armed bricklayer in Baghdad

The Honey Badger would be a cracker of a choice.
Don’t normally watch the Bachelor but would definitely watch with him involved.
Am I the only one who thinks they’ve jumped the shark with this choice? His comedy act will wear pretty thin pretty quick I reckon.
Agreed. I always change channels when this clown’s ads come on.
Smart choice if true. I just hope the producers allow “the honey badger” to speak freely.
Have no doubt the producers will flog his gimmick to death.
The Bachelorette did well with celebrity Sophie Monk, so why not a celebrity for The Bachelor? He is a good looking bloke, love the Tradie underwear ads he does.
Is this the fellow joining Dannii on Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster?
Yes true.
Then shouldn’t TEN be renaming this ‘The Celebrity Batchelor Australia”?
That’s it, I’m leaving my husband and applying.
That’s hilarious! I must confess I haven’t heard of him…oops! But will watch regardless I am a sucker for this show.
PS. Good luck with yout application 🙂
An inspired choice if this is correct.
