Nine Footy not enough to to take Thursday

Ratings: Thursday Night NRL was competitive in 2 cities, but it wasn't enough to stop Seven from a win.

Football returned to Nine last night with a revamped if stripped-down NRL Footy Show hosted by Erin Molan.

On a simple chat-show set, panelist Beau Ryan appeared to have been overlooked. “Can I get a chair? Am I on the show?” he asked.

  1. i didnt mind the NRL footy show, its only the first show.
the afl footy show i liked better (hopefully 2018 they win the logie)
when Erin Molan goes on leave i think maybe BeauRyan will take the reigns or maybe they’ll get a female to host it.
as to who will take Rebecca Maddern place while she is on leaving- somebody said to me KellieUnderwood

  2. Just read what Sam Newman said about a female journalist last night, absolutely horrified. Surely it’s time this pathetic excuse of a man is removed from the show permanently??? So much for the AFL celebrating International Women’s Day.

  3. I ended up watching ‘Safe Harbour’/’Good Fight’ (which I had recorded the night before)… it sure is a pity these well-made, intelligent shows don’t get a look in…
and all because everyone’s watching the same dumbed-down cooking/married crap… i really just don’t get how people can sit through it night after night…
I read an interesting article awhile back discussing if ‘crap TV is making people dumber’ or if ‘dumb people just watch crap TV’… kind of like which came first, the chicken or the egg…

    1. For some people, real life is so difficult, that they need TV to be an escape. Doesn’t make them dumber than anyone else, it is just that they don’t have enough emotional resources to take on the trauma of the rest of the world as well as their own.

  4. Looking at the SBS figures, perhaps they should have set ‘Safe Harbour’ aboard a train a la ‘Murder On The Orient Express’…otherwise pitiful performance by them.
