Oops. Richard Wilkins slammed for “talking out of your a**”

UK singer sends Nine entertainment editor a serve for reporting fake news.

Richard Wilkins may have an enviable contact book but UK singer Dua Lipa delivered him a serve to today after he accused her of snubbing Australian audiences.

“Now get this, she was supposed to be here in Australia opening up for Bruno Mars on his 24K World Tour, but Dua Lipa cancelled her appearances last weekend, as a result of having to have immediate surgery to have her wisdom teeth removed,” he said on Today.

“But get this, here she is last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Wilkins added, “we were told that was live to air…”.

But Lipa hit back online, telling him to get his facts straight.

“Lol @RichardWilkins if you were a good journalist you would’ve done proper research instead of talking out of your ass. Jimmy Kimmel was shot in Feb in La and aired yesterday. I’ve been in Australia on bed rest and wouldn’tve cancelled my Bruno shows if I didn’t have to. @9NowAU” she tweeted.

  1. Hasn’t been the best week for the Today show has it? Im glad she blasted him. This is the 2nd stuff up he made after he killed off Jeff Goldblum. You would have thought he would have learnt after that.

  2. I thought that TV presenters had teams of researchers to advise them on such matters before they went in front of the cameras. Perhaps they don’t any more due to cutting staff in ‘economy drives’. Well, at least he apologised which is refreshing.

  3. Good on her for speaking out about it. I’ve never liked Wilkins & could never understand how on earth he got the Mtv Aust gig since he was & still is the blandest music/entertainment reporter i’ve witnessed. He must’ve signed a lifetime contract with 9. At least Molly Meldrum earned his longevity by always being passionate & knowledgable about the music.
