US actress DuShon Monique Brown, who had a recurring role in Chicago Fire, has died aged 49.

She died on Friday of natural causes, her manager confirmed.

She played known for playing Chief Boden’s secretary, Connie in the US drama and had a recurring role as a nurse in Prison Break.

Her other credits included Phillip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, Boss, Shameless & Empire.

“We are very sad to announce the untimely death of beloved Chicago actress DuShon Monique Brown. DuShon, most affectionately known to many as Connie on NBC’s Chicago Fire, died suddenly Friday morning of natural causes,” her manager, Robert Schroeder, said in a statement. “We are devastated by the loss of a very talented and kindhearted soul. DuShon was a film, television, commercial and voice-over actress who also graced the stages of many Chicago theaters. She brought laughter and joy to many and will be greatly missed. At this difficult time we ask that the privacy of the family and loved ones be respected.”

Executive producer Dick Wolf said in a statement, “The Chicago Fire family is devastated to lose one of its own. Our thoughts and prayers are with DuShon’s family and we will all miss her.”

  1. Sorry to hear of her passing. She played a memorable secondary character in Chicago Fire who displayed a great screen presence whenever she was on camera. Condolences to her family and friends.
