VICELAND to replay Queer as Folk (US)

Ground-breaking LGBTQ series is getting a throwback from SBS VICELAND.

I don’t normally give much attention to repeat material but it’s worth mentioning that Queer as Folk (US) is about to get a rerun on SBS VICELAND.

Based on the UK miniseries, the US adaptation ran much longer from 2000 – 2005 to wide acclaim. Some of the social topics will no doubt be dated, but it’s a series with a lot of heart and blazed more than a few trails…

VICELAND is beginning from Season 1 with 22 episodes.

With the Mardi Gras season almost over, it’s time to revisit an LGBT classic that throws back to when SBS first brought it to Aussie shore. Based on the British series, this brave, funny and sometimes graphic portrayal of a world not usually seen on television provides an intimate look at a group of gay men and women unapologetically celebrating life.

Relationships, careers, loves and ambitions unfold in a remarkable tapestry of everyday contemporary life set against the lively urban backdrop of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Realistic and frank, Queer As Folk, shows that, despite their differences, all people share a common bond – their humanity, and that’s what really counts.

Series One, Episode One:
Brian meets Justin, who soon becomes obsessed with him. Lindsay, who has been impregnated with Brian’s sperm, has her baby.

9:50pm Friday on SBS VICELAND.

  1. I love how you find things in the TV schedule that I’d other wise miss. So many times I see something on here and go straight to my PVR and set to record. Absolutely love this show and can’t wait to see it again 🙂
