Airdate: Save Me

Lennie James plays a most unlikely hero, searching for Jody, his missing daughter.

2018 UK drama Save Me, starring Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Line of Duty) and Suranne Jones (Doctor Foster, Scott & Bailey) debuts on BBC First next month.

James plays a most unlikely hero, Nelson ‘Nelly’ Rowe searching for Jody, his missing daughter.

The 6 part series from the producers of Line of Duty also features Stephen Graham, Susan Lynch and Jason Flemyng.

This debuted in the UK in February, with another season already approved.

Nelly is the life and soul of his local boozer: a charmer, a chancer, a fighter, a liar. And now, an estranged father, accused of kidnapping the daughter he’s barely ever seen.

Jody’s mother, Claire (Suranne Jones), who shared a ‘summer of love’ with Nelly 14 years ago, is convinced of his guilt. So Nelly sets out to clear his name, find the real perpetrator and save his daughter.

With the help of his community, Nelly will stop at nothing in his life-changing quest for the truth. It’s a journey that will challenge him to be a better man, and atone for his past mistakes, not least towards Claire. But the further he travels, the more he realises the answers to his quest lie closer to home than he could ever have thought…

Tuesdays at 8.30pm from May 22 on BBC First.
