Brad McEwan departs TEN

“I’m just ready to do other things." TEN sports presenter exits after nearly 20 years.

TEN sports presenter Brad McEwan is departing TEN today after nearly 20 years with the network.

McEwan is TEN’s Melbourne sports presenter, but is well-known around the country for Sports Tonight plus network sports coverage.

“I’m heading off for other adventures. I love working for TEN but I’m 47 tomorrow and just ready to do other things,” he told 3AW.

“I still love storytelling, but I just want to head off, perhaps head off into the corporate world and use those skills that I’ve got and keep meeting people and keep travelling the world.”

After Sports Tonight ended in 2011 McEwan later returned to Melbourne to join the TEN Eyewitness News panel.

He told 3AW says his future would likely involve sport and possibly food.

His final bulletin airs at 5pm tonight in Melbourne.

  1. Was expecting this as Stephen let it slip a few days ago when brad was saying about not being able to read without his glasses, Stephen joked “thats why your retiring”

  2. Shame to see him go, but all the best, a real professional and great presenter.

A loyal employee at the network too, who went from reporting in Melbourne in the late 90s/early 2000s up to Ten News Brisbane as sport presenter, then replaced Ryan Phelan on Sports Tonight (where I know him best) and also Tim Webster on Ten News Sydney a year later and later returned to Melbourne to replace Quarters on sport.
