Actor Cary Elwes, who rose to prominence in 80s fantasy The Princess Bride, has joined the 80s inspired Netflix drama Stranger Things as a local mayor.
“Handsome, slick, and sleazy, Mayor Kline is your classic 80s politician – more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs,” Netflix said in a press release.
Elwes was recently seen in The Art of More, Sugar Mountain and Being Charlie, and will appear in The Billionaires Boys Club as Andy Warhol.
Jake Busey, son of actor Gary Buesy, has also been cast as a guest performer in the role of “Bruce.”

Great to see him back prominently. The Princess Bride was memorable for Elwes. He also shone in Robin Hood. I’ll never forget his performance.
Any rough idea on when it will be on?
I would tip Halloweeen again.
Thanks. Can’t wait. Hopefully better than S2
