  1. I have been overall happy with Seven’s coverage. there have been parts that i didn’t like and still don’t. When they cut broadcasting a live event on tv to eventually go to another one more popular but do it too early before the other is supposed to start and they fill the time with a replay of another event that happened earlier. Opals match against Canada case in point. On Sunday they cut into that match half way through the 2nd quarter so they could go to the swimming finals but instead they went too early and just filled time by showing a replay of another events australians were in. They could have waited untill the Swimming was about to start then do it. Its these programming decisions that irrititate me as a viewer. Although i am pleased at their overall strategy when covering the event, with the app and tv coverage. It is the future, whether Foxtel likes it or not.

  2. It’s interesting to note that Brisbane has kept their main team of Sharyn Ghidella and Max Futcher running for the entire Games period from the Gold Coast. No doubt hoping that the Games lift will boost their Brisbane news audience in the future. In addition, Queensland 4pm news anchor Kendall Gilding is reading news for Nova 106.9 breakfast this week while they broadcast from The Star on the Gold Coast.

  3. 1.45m as an average for the night session, also being the fifth night, is quite something. Sydney and Melbourne’s numbers jumped and Brisbane’s are just massive. As David said, these games have been all about the main channel, with 7Two not as high rating as 7mate was during Pyeongchang, even Rio 2016 multi-channels, but seems to pick up around the weekend.
