HBO has released a full trailer for its upcoming telemovie, Fahrenheit 451.

Michael B. Jordan plays Guy Montag in the film based on Ray Bradbury’s 1953 dystopian novel where books are outlawed and “firemen” burn any that are found.

  1. Dystopian themes seem to be becoming quite trendy at the moment, is that coincidental with American politics being somewhat polarised at the moment.

    1. I’m not sure if that’s why – dystopia has been quite popular for awhile now with The Walking Dead, Hunger Games, etc – but I do think the political situation in the US is making them very pertinent at the moment ala The Handmaids Tale and Fahrenheit with its censorship themes is relevant as well.

      1. Hollywood does reflect political mood. Before Clinton we never had movies where the President became an action hero (Air Force One, Independence Day). His relative ‘youth’ recast movie presidents as heroes. Before this he was always wise and senior.
