Gogglebox best in entertainment as Sport dominates Thursday

Ratings: Seven pulls another huge network share, as Gogglebox wraps its season.

The season final of Gogglebox was the night’s top entertainment drawcard in a night that was swamped with Sport. It drew 533,000 viewers for TEN.

Commonwealth Games action pulled 1.16m / 1.09m in primetime.  7TWO feed topped multichannels at 216,000, leading to another huge network share.

Thursday Night NRL on Nine was 301,000 in 2 cities, where Sydney remained loyal (at 207,000) viewers but Brissy was hooked on the Gold Coast.

Seven News (1.02m/ 776,000) helped Seven network win the night with 44.1% then Nine 21.8%, TEN 15.6%, ABC 13.0% and SBS 5.5%.

Nine News (871,000 / 839,000) was best for Nine then A Current Affair (681,000), Hot Seat (485,000 / 277,000), Thursday Night NRL (301,000) in 2 cities and The Footy Show (284,000).

Gogglebox (533,000) led for TEN followed by The Project (411,000 / 304,000), TEN Eyewitness News (395,000), Show Me the Movie (374,000) and Family Feud (281,000). Blue Bloods drew 168,000.

ABC News (666,000), 7:30 (511,000), Kiri (424,000), Wentworth (203,000), Think Tank (185,000) and QI (141,000) comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was Great British Railway Journeys (221,000), Luke Nguyen’s Food Trail (125,000), SBS World News (124,000) and Suffragette (106,000).

    1. Agreed re: Kiri. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Sarah Lancashire was fantastic (as always). Equally looking forward to the remaining episodes. Yet to watch Wentworth – we will watch over the weekend. Predicting others who haven’t seen it before will do the same given the low numbers.

  1. Just looked at your daily ratings in the ratings section, the late night audience for last night’s Commonwealth Games was huge! We really love hockey women it seems. Also flowed-in nicely for The Front Bar: Gold Coast Edition.

    1. I’d be more interested in what it’s getting in iview numbers. Plenty of people have already seen it too by way of DVD sales/hire/download so they couldn’t expect huge numbers. The first season must be 6 years old now.
