Julie Goodwin facing drink driving charge

"I am devastated that I have acted in a way so contrary to what I believe," says inaugural Masterchef winner.

Inaugural MasterChef Australia champion star Julie Goodwin has apologised after allegedly registering a BAC of .107 on the New South Wales Central Coast on Thursday night.

Nine reports police claim they saw a car approaching a random breath test station before performing a u-turn and driving in the opposite direction.

They followed the car and allegedly found it driven by Goodwin.

“I want to take the opportunity to offer a heartfelt and unreserved apology to my family, my colleagues, and to the broader community,” she said on social media.

“I would also like to apologise to everyone that has supported me over many years, I have let you all down.

“I am devastated that I have acted in a way so contrary to what I believe, to how I usually conduct myself, and to what I have taught my children.”

She will face court on May 25.
