Here we go.
Seven has confirmed a premiere date for Season 9 of Modern Family and even managed to get a cast promo.
It begins at 9pm Wednesday May 2nd following My Kitchen Rules, pushing Back with the Ex to a 9:30pm start.
Interestingly it puts the show against 7mate’s Simpsons, also snatched as part of the new FOX deal.
This aired in the US in September.
Jay forces the family to spend their family vacation on a houseboat on a lake in an effort to create memories that will last long after he’s gone.
Meanwhile, Mitchell runs into an old flame that opens some old wounds; Cam has to stay out of the sun at all costs; Phil and Claire try out some adventurous excursions; and the kids’ quest for a good time may not be as fun as they expected.
9pm Wednesday May 2 on Seven.

Seven will treat Modern Family like what they have done with The Amazing Race.
Ten had it on at a reasonable hour not 9 pm.
Will be interesting to see how this goes on Seven. Many speculate in genera that the same show on Ten would do better on Seven, just because of viewer habits to stick with Seven. So it will be interesting to see if this theory holds true.
The kids aren’t cute anymore and the novelty of alternative families has worn off. The ratings for this on Ten should’ve been an indication. Not sure why Seven bothered to acquire this when there is fresher, funnier stuff out there. “The Mick” is brilliant. The youngest child in that is hilarious.
Simpsons will probably move by 30 minutes.
