Amazon will debut new US comedy drama Dietland next week.

Based on the book of the same name by Sarai Walker it centres around a ghost-writer for a New York’s hottest fashion magazines, as she struggles with self-image.

The 10 part series is created by Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, UnREAL) and stars Joy Nash and Julianna Margulies. Campbell Scott also features.

Dietland unveils one woman’s journey to self-awakening while exploring a multitude of issues faced by women today – including patriarchy, misogyny, rape culture and unrealistic beauty standards. Based on Sarai Walker’s 2015 best-selling, critically acclaimed novel of the same name, “Dietland” stars Joy Nash (The Mindy Project, Twin Peaks) as lead Plum Kettle, and Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award-winner Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife, ER) as Kitty Montgomery. Marti Noxon (Mad Men, UnREAL) serves as executive producer, writer, showrunner and directs of multiple episodes on the series.

Filmed on location in New York City, the 10-episode series follows Plum Kettle, ghost-writer for the editor of one of New York’s hottest fashion magazines, as she struggles with self-image and sets out on a wildly complicated road to self-acceptance. At the same time, everyone is buzzing over news reports about men, accused of sexual abuse and assault, who are disappearing and meeting untimely, violent deaths.

Tuesday June 5 on Amazon.

      1. Thanks David. Any word back? Was able to find the title via searching but it wouldn’t play the episode. Agree with Sokratis above, Amazon are not making a great case for their streaming service. This is the first thing I’ve tried to watch since Marvelous Mrs Maisel.

  1. The title put me off, even though it has Marguiles and Noxon attached but by the time I got to the last line of the synopsis I. Was. All. In! The #MeToo revenge drama we’ve been waiting for. The trailer shows they’ve cast a Terry Richardson style character. Hope a FTA picks it up.
