I might just say that again….. “A new music show featuring local bands”.

Jam Live is a South Australian-produced show featuring local and touring acts recorded live at shows and festivals around Adelaide and South Australia.

Five half-hour episodes, will feature Regurgitator, Tired Lion, West Thebarton, San Cisco, Dean Lewis, Josh Cashman and Boo Seeka.

The show is getting a 4:30pm Saturday slot on Nine Adelaide from 23rd June, which could indicate it has branded content elements…. but hey, anything that puts local bands back on telly has to be encouraged.

Jam Live will be showing not just local artists but touring artists as well,” the program’s producer and presenter, Shanelle Franklin, told Music Feeds.

“The show is designed just as much for the venues and festivals as it is for the artists and bands. We aim to showcase live music, be a fly on the wall and capture the magic for the viewer.

“More importantly, we want to open their ears to music they may not have heard before. It is designed to get people excited about live music and back into supporting the local artists, the touring artists and of course the venues and festivals who put these artists on.”

  1. if this is successful maynbe the Loop can be put on a 4.30 Sunday time slot. maybe even rebrand it back to Video Hits and with the old format.

  2. >> which could indicate it has branded content elements

The South Australian Government (well, the previous one at least) had a real focus on Adelaide as a music city – in fact Adelaide is an UNESCO City of Music (since 2015) – so I’m betting there is plenty of public funding in this one.

  3. Shame it’s not something that showcases more than just SA based music and that it’s only broadcast in SA. Hopefully something will come along that’s for a wider audience but it’s a good start.

Er, I’m pretty sure the banana-benders will claim Regurgitator. And both Tired Lion and San Cisco are from Perth. Dean Lewis and Boo Seka are from Sydney. And Josh Cashman? Melbourne. But, you know what they say, never let the facts …

As per AndrewB, it will be on the catch-up service.

      1. sorry should elaborate, what I meant was that they are probably all live shows filmed in SA. of course the bands come from all over Aus.
It being on 9now is good but not the same as being able to watch in old school on the TV like rage, the loop or the ABC ausmusic broadcasts.
