Airdate: Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You

It's a Mother's Day treat as Seven confirms premiere for its two-part bio-pic.

Seven has now confirmed its miniseries Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You will screen on Mother’s Day at 8:30pm Sunday May 13.

That will see it take on Eurovision (ironic, given ONJ once performed in it for the UK) in primetime.

Depending on the precise timing that The Voice ends, it may also see star Delta Goodrem go head to head on dual networks. But probably not for long.

Goodrem stars as the Aussie icon who took on the world, plus Kate Jenkinson, Georgia Flood, Robyn Malcolm, Todd Lasance and George Xanthis.

A broadcast for Part 2 is yet to be confirmed.

Over five decades, she’s been the one that we want. From Seven and FremantleMedia Australia (FMA) comes Olivia Newton John: Hopelessly Devoted To You, spanning more than five decades of ONJ’s extraordinary life.

This two part biopic takes viewers on a rich and colourful ride charting Olivia’s astonishing personal life and trailblazing persona through one of the world’s toughest industries. Defying classification, her styles include pop, country and adult contemporary, selling an estimated 100 million records and making her one of the top-selling artists of all time.

“Our Livvy”, is many things to many people. But first and foremost she is a survivor.

8:30pm Sunday May 13 on Seven.

  1. I’m sure it will be successful, but I personally can’t stand Delta. She alone is a reason for me to avoid it. I’ve always found her to be a diva / drama queen. When I watched the Voice, I never thought she was genuine

  2. Why are people always so negative about new shows before they have even aired, nobody knows how the viewers will re-act to any show and if you are not interested in that particular show then no body forces you to watch it, I think that if the viewers don’t like the people in the show or the channel that it is on, then there is plenty of other shows to watch on Free to Air.

  3. Physical is one of the highest-selling singles of all time – #1 selling single of the entire decade of the ’80s in the US, and post her major soundtrack work, particularly if you exclude Twist of Fate from Two Of A Kind.

    1. Probably not that long before Inxs were in their heyday, & the mini series about them rated pretty well. Retro is in fashion with viewers right now in case you hadn’t noticed.
