Axed: Transparent to end with 5th season

No Jeffrey Tambor, so finally a confirmation transgender series will conclude.

US drama Transparent will end with its upcoming fifth season, already notable for the absence of star Jeffrey Tambor.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter in an interview with creator Jill Soloway;

As for the future of Transparent, Soloway has begun to feel “a tiny bit like we are going to be OK.” The writing staff has begun discussions on how to tackle the show’s fifth — and, Soloway reveals, final — season. “Hopefully it sets the Pfeffermans up with some sort of beautiful reclaiming,” Soloway says. “I think we’re going to get there with some time.”

Tambor who nevertheless returns soon in Arrested Development, was fired from his transgender role following harassment allegations.

“I did raise my voice at times, I was moody at times, there were times when I was tactless,” he has since said. “But as for the other stuff, absolutely not.”

Transparent premieres in Australia on Stan.

  1. Sad, this was such a great series, having seen a lot of Tambor’s work over the years its very disappointing that he seems to be the catalyst of this result 🙁
