CEO of Seven West Media WA resigns

John Driscoll resigns after 11 months in the role, citing family reasons.

John Driscoll, CEO of Seven West Media WA, has resigned after 11 months in the role, citing family reasons.

SWM Chairman Kerry Stokes recently discussed new responsibilities for the role that would have required extensive travel but Driscoll has decided he would not be able to accommodate them with family.

In a statement Seven indicates Driscoll and Stokes hope to work together in the future.

“I would like to thank John for his services,” said Kerry Stokes. “He has instituted a number of important reforms for our newspapers which will continue to benefit the company after his departure.”

Driscoll joined Seven last June from Perth communications agency, Marketforce, replacing outgoing CEO Chris Wharton.

A successor will be announced early next week.
