Fargo wait until 2020?

Fargo fans will need patience, "Youbetcha."

Fargo fans will need to settle in for the long haul with a fourth season not due to begin production until the US Fall 2019 making it “a long shot” that it’ll be on air before 2020.

“We have a year, and we have a city [that season four takes place in],” Littlefield told Entertainment Weekly. “The plan would be to go into production and start shooting in the fall of 2019.

“Noah (Hawley, writer) has a lot on his plate. Noah knows when it is and where it is, and he’ll commence writing that after he shoots his feature with FOX Searchlight this summer.

“So in the Fall, he’ll begin writing and with Fargo we generally have most of the scripts written before we go into production.”

Hawley has previously confirmed the next season will be another period piece.

“I think it could [go back in time], as long as there’s something unique to say about it,” Hawley said. “On some level, there’s a good joke in the idea that the more things change, the more they stay the same. I don’t know if there’s 10 episodes in that or not!,” he has said.

“But if you look at the history of the region and the waves of migration and people coming in, and the things people do for money… there’s something interesting to making a period version of it.”
