FOX Sports confirms Shane Warne

FOX Sports cricket commentary team bags its biggest name yet.

Shane Warne has been confirmed as part of FOX Sports cricket commentary team.

He joins Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh, Allan Border, Brendon Julian and Michael Hussey plus Michael Vaughan, Isa Guha and Mel Jones.

“In the end, talking to head of television Steve Crawley and old pal Brendon Julian at FOX about the designated channel made the call easy. The team they’ve put together is fantastic. Where Australian cricket is at the moment, I think it’s important the fans get what they deserve,” he said.

“FOX Sports will revolutionise cricket around the world. The way we will do the commentary and what we will bring to the fans will be super exciting. I’m really happy to be joining the family and the team. Hopefully I can make it entertaining and help.”

FOX Sports’ head of television, Steve Crawley, added, “Warnie is unique, one of a kind — the great showman of world cricket who can waltz into the commentary box and give insights no one else can. He adds to a brilliant team at FOX Sports.”

Warne had previously been a long term Nine personality, including fronting his own primetime series, Warnie.

  1. Couldn’t they get Kevin Pietersen, is there a reason they have to have australian ex cricketers …. I have been watching the IPL and the commentary is really diverse.
As for the human headline he is just painful!

  2. And I was hoping that we had seen the last of him. Primetime series Warnie? Never heard of it; couldn’t have been much of a crowd pleaser!
