20-year-old Maddie Poppe from Iowa has won American Idol 2018, praised for her storytelling skills.

Poppe, who originally auditioned with The Rainbow Connection, reprised the song with Kermit the Frog in the grand final.

She also duetted with runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson, before it was revealed the two are officially dating.
