Netflix approves anthology series for Guillermo del Toro

Oscar winning's 10 part series marks the first horror anthology for Netflix.

Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro is getting his own anthology series on Netflix, Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight.

Guillermo del Toro, whose films have included The Shape of Water, The Devil’s Backbone and Pan’s Labyrinth will write and direct select episodes of the 10 part series and curate the remaining episodes by other writers and directors.

The series, which marks the first horror anthology for the streaming giant, will see del Toro reteam with The Shape of Water producer J. Miles Dale, who serves as executive producer, along with Gary Ungar (Exile Entertainment).

Guillermo del Toro and Netflix have previously teamed up for animated series Trollhunters, which returns on May 25.

  1. Excellent news, this has the potential to be up there with the Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Hour series that were around, to which Hitchcock only directed a handful of episodes (18 and 1) but curated the others.
