Renewed: The 100

US sci-fi with Eliza Taylor & Bob Morley gets a sixth season.

US sci-fi / fantasy The 100 has been renewed for a sixth season by The CW.

The series stars Aussies Eliza Taylor & Bob Morley plus Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Christopher Larkin and Henry Ian Cusick.

The fifth season has just premiered in the US averaging 1.23 total million viewers with a six year time jump in the story.

Updated: Season 5 returns to FOX8 at 8:30pm Wednesday May 30.

  1. The 100 certainly is the great survivor, each year I think will be its last the show gets a renewal which is good news for Sci-Fi fans. I suspect that the growing Google/Android streaming business may offer a reprieve for other shows in the future as well, especially relatively long running shows with a popular following .

  2. The time jump happened at the end of S4 to reveal that people didn’t die (presumably incase it wasn’t renewed). In S5 they flashback 6 years paralleling then and now. I am getting sick of shows that flashback to irrelevant stuff to try and cover up for the fact that their main narrative has run out of steam. This is what happened to Lost after S1 and is happening to Westword & THT. The CW is coping with Peak TV by increasing the number of hours of original content they broadcast a week. So they have only cancelled Life Sentence and Valour (iZombie S5 is unknown).
