Shaynna Blaze leads Buying Blind for Nine

Nine announces its experts for the new property series where buyers handing over their life-savings.

Shaynna Blaze will front Nine’s new property series Buying Blind in which 3 experts buy a property for buyers who hand over their life-savings.

The Block / Selling Houses Australia expert will be joined by buyer’s agent, Rich Harvey and builder, Marshal Keen. Based on a European format, the series features 6 couples facing the property market.

“Buying a home is the biggest investment a couple will ever make together, so I couldn’t be more excited to join these couples on their journey to find, build and design their dream home,” said Blaze.

Nine’s Head of Content Production and Development, Adrian Swift, said: “This is a show about unlucky house-hunters who take the ultimate leap of faith: handing over the biggest and most expensive decision of their lives, the purchase of a home, to a team of strangers. Real houses, real savings, real mortgages. It’s edge-of-the-seat drama with the biggest reveal on TV. Will it be the dream home they could never find or a disaster they never wanted?”

Mark Fennessy, CEO of Endemol Shine Australia, the series producers, said: “Buying Blind is a high-stakes property thriller for buyers who put the purchase of their lives into the hands of strangers. It’s a rollercoaster of high drama, jeopardy and thrills, with the ultimate reveal of the dream home that you’ve never seen.”

An airdate is yet to be announced.

The couples range from disillusioned first-time home buyers to struggling young families who can’t agree on what to buy and are at their wits’ end with the soaring property market in Australia.

Each week one couple will sign over their life savings to three experts who make the crucial decisions of finding, purchasing, and renovating a property that meets their expectations.

Buying Blind promises life-changing transformations and unpredictable final reactions as the couples risk it all for the home of their dreams.

Buying Blind is a format created by Kinetic Content, a Red Arrow Studios company, distributed by Red Arrow Studios International, and produced by Endemol Shine Australia for the Nine Network.

  2. This seems to be another case of insular, Sydney-centric programming from Nine. When will they – and the other media – get it through their heads that those of us beyond Liverpool and Hornsby do not share the Sydney obsession with real estate and property values. I really don’t give a rats about a house in Vaucluse or Bondi selling for $5 million and I’m not remotely interested in confected reality formats about couples having their homes sold by strangers. Really Nine, is this the best you can do?
