The reboot of Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation will put a smile on your dial from beginning to end.

It’s an inspired idea to give this a new coat of paint (well maybe not that inspired, I advocated for it in 2016).

Shaun Micallef returns as the ultimate anti-host, ready to upend his own format with anarchy without notice, and three new team captains, Robyn Butler, Andy Lee and Laurence Boxhall. Their casting fits like a glove in this playful, nonsensical quiz.

Far be it for me to give anything away, but the first episode juggles Taylor Swift, pretend tobacco, North Korea, the lion the witch and the wardrobe, apostrophes, amyl nitrate, Gangnam Style, Superman’s horse, marshmallow with glitter, tongues, an Op Shop trophy and a score check of 1 point.

Rollicking fun for no good reason, welcome back!

  1. Half an hour in and it’s like catching up with an old friend you haven’t seen for years and discovering that you get along just as well as you always have. Loving it!
