Veteran US actor Joseph Campanella, best known for Mannix & The Bold and the Beautiful has died, aged 93.
He died at home in California according to reports.
Campanella played Lew Wickersham in the late 1960s / early ’70s series Mannix, nominated for a supporting actor Emmy in 1968 for the role. He also played Ed Cooper on six seasons of One Day at a Time.
In the late 1980s, Campanella joined Days of Our Lives as Harper Deveraux, a powerful senator who eventually was revealed as the fiendish slasher known as the Riverfront Knifer. Other notable credits included Marcus Welby M.D., The Colbys, The Practice and The Bold and the Beautiful as Jonathan Young.

I agree with Stevie G, Joseph was definitely more well known for Days, I’d forgotten he’d ever appeared on B&B. A fantastic actor who Days fans remember to this day as one of the best villains they ever had on the show. RIP.
I’d forgotten he ever appeared on B&B too, it came to me while I was writing the last post that he recurred as the Forrester Lawyer for a time.
I remember him well and liked him as an actor…another life well lived…Respect.
He was certainly more well known for Harper Deveraux, Jacks adoptive father in Days of our Lives than he was for B&B. RIp.
