Netflix has announced a new scripted anthology series with each episode based on a song by Dolly Parton.

Dolly Parton will serve as singer / songwriter, executive producer and will also appear in the yet-to-be titled series.

Previous Parton songs including Coat of Many Colors and Harper Valley P.T.A. have been the subject of telemovies, films and series.

  1. Oh dear, I don’t think they’d be able to do Applejack. It was a fun song back in the innocent 1970s but nowadays there would be paedophilia implications and someone would call it creepy.

  2. ‘Harper Valley PTA’ was a hit for Jeannie C Reilly and written by Tom T Hall. Dolly did a cover version but it had little to do with her.

    I’m revoking your pass to DollyWood.
