Four Corners: June 4

Sarah Ferguson digs into 3 part investigation on the US President & his connections to Russia.

A three-part investigative Four Corners series on the US President and his connections to Russia.

Reported and presented by Sarah Ferguson, it follows the spies and the money trail from Washington, to London, to Moscow.

On Monday night, the story begins:

Follow the Money: Four Corners follows the money trail from New York to Moscow, tracking the ties between Trump, his business empire and Russia.

Secrets, spies and useful idiots: in part two, Four Corners speaks to key protagonists at the centre of the unfolding drama over members of the Trump team accused of being compromised by Russia.

Moscow Rules: in part three, Four Corners investigates the central allegations that members of the Trump team, including possibly the President himself, actively colluded with Russia to subvert American democracy.

Months in the making, filmed across the United States, the United Kingdom and Russia, Sarah Ferguson charts the extraordinary allegations, interrogating the evidence and interviewing central characters in this unfolding story that could be lifted from the pages of a blockbuster spy novel.

Monday 4th June at 8.30pm on ABC.

  1. Trump’s ties with the Russian Mafia goes back to the 1980s-he’s always been a dodgy ‘businessman’-that’s why he objected so strongly to the idea of the FBI investigating the family business-now the bastard is pardoning assorted cronies and allies as a way of showing the current indictees that he can fix their problems if they stay silent.

  2. On the surface that might look bad…but so what? It accords with the usual DC shenanigans on both sides if you scratch deep enough. But I guess it is a fair price to pay for record black and hispanic unemployment, record stockmarket, tax cuts, record GDP, positive progress on the NK situation etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

  3. So this is going to be the ABC’s version of a hit job on Trump. I suppose they will be uncovering some amazing evidence the special counsel has yet to uncover after a year long investgation. I think I remember the ABC predicting that HRC was a shoo-in to win the US election, how did that work out?Especially since President Obama assured the nation that it was virtually impossible for a foreign agent to influence the outcome of a US election.

    1. Nah, I suspect they’ll be summarising the story so far for people who haven’t been following it. Since I suspect you won’t be watching it, here’s my own quick summary:

      – 19 people & 3 companies (including 16 Russian) indicted on over 100 charges surrounding interference in the 2016 election.
      – 5 people, including campaign officials and Trump’s former national security advisor, have already plead guilty to charges ranging from making false statements to conspiracy – mostly in return for cooperating with Mueller’s investigations.
      – Trump’s campaign manager has been charged with conspiracy, money laundering, false statements, and failure to disclose foreign assets.

Granted, doesn’t sound like much for 1yrs work – but it’s still better than the 1 conviction our LNP’s trade union RC got after ~2 yrs of digging. Cheaper, too (US$17M so far, vs AU$46M)…
